To all of Gary's family, We are sincerly sorry for your loss. Gary, Erick Galluzio , Dave Di Giovanni and I have been friends since the 5th grade and always remained friends. As our lives took us in differant directions we always kept in touch. He will be missed but he will never be forgot. He was a great dad and loved his children more than life. He will always be with Taylor & Garret in all they do. Our prayers of comfort are with all of you. Love, Mike & Ann Di Nella

To the family of Gary Smith, It is with heartfelt sincerity that I extend my deepest sorrow for your loss, most especially to his children, Garrett and Taylor. I was a schoolmate of Gary's and am a life-long friend of John Shea. I had the pleasure of meeting Gary's children a good many years ago. (I can still remember my son, Joshua, and Garrett shooting arrows together at John's house when we were down visiting. That was a long time ago.) Although I would only see Gary from time to time when in Rockland, John always acted as a conduit, keeping us both up-to-speed with the goings on in our lives and perspective families. So, despite living out-of-state, I always felt connected. Gary was always a warm and friendly individual. Although he tended to be a bit on the quiet side during the school years, that all changed once he became a dad. On those occasions when I did see him while visiting from Maine, the conversation always centered on the children. He was eager to speak about what the "kids" were doing. He would enthusiastically expound on their numerous endeavors and accomplishments, as well as, express the typical concerns that we parents share in always wanting the best for our family. It was clear that his children were the center of his life and that he loved them dearly. He was a pro-active dad in deed as well as speech, always attending their games and taking them on trips when he had the opportunity to do so. Garrett and Taylor, I know how difficult it is to loose a parent, especially at your young age, but rest assured that love never dies. The greatest testimony of Gary's life is realized in the two of you, his beloved children. I pray that God bring comfort to you and your entire family during this difficult time
