Some of our fondest memories of Frank were at Fourth of July cookouts. Fourth of July cookouts at the McKiernan's were a great celebration. Frank spent a lot of time preparing the back deck and yard. He set up a gazebo as well as many tables with umbrellas. He artistically put out many festive decorations. He set up yard games for the kids to play with. Everything was picture perfect. On the day of the cookout he had everything organized. Food and grills were ready to go. Drinks were in a cooler. Plates, napkins, utensils and condiments were on a service table. He and Lorraine always had a feast prepared fit for kings and queens (at least that’s how we felt). The spread included delicious fruit dishes and a multitude of salads. There was the traditional hamburger and hot dogs and for seafood lovers, lobster. There were more desserts than anyone could eat. On the day of the cookout Frank greeted everyone with a larger than life smile and a “good afternoon. He always made everyone feel welcome. While guests were eating appetizers and socializing he got the grilling underway. Each guest’s food was made to order. He waited for all guests to be served before he sat down with his own plate. Everyone had a wonderful time and left stuffed to the brim. Frank and Lorraine made their Fourth of July cookout and all their gatherings memorable celebrations for their family and friends. Frank not only will be missed by his family but also his many good friends. With Deepest Sympathy, The Daigneault Family
