Obituary For Frances M. Blanchard

Frances M. Blanchard, 93, of Lewis Center Ohio formerly of Duxbury and Rockland died on Sunday February 22, 2009 at St. Ann's Hospital in Westerville, Ohio. She was born in Marshfield daughter of the late Waldo B. and Sarah E. (Porter) Reed and was raised and educated in Duxbury graduating from Duxbury High School in 1933. Frances was a longtime Duxbury resident and had also been formerly of Rockland before moving to Ohio with her daughter 11 years ago. She was a member of Columbia Chapter #33 of the Order of the Eastern Star in Sunbury, Ohio and had been a member of Duxbury Chapter, #219 O.E.S. and the First Congregational Church in Rockland. Wife of the late Wendell P. Blanchard, she is survived by her daughters, Eleanor L. Johnson of Jensen Beach, Florida, Beverly A. Johnson and her husband Bruce of Hingham and Helen B. Lowe and her husband George of Lewis Center, Ohio. Her grandchildren, Peter Johnson, Gwen McCann, Jeff Lowe, Gregory Lowe and Heidi Watton and her great grandchildren, Nathaniel and Brian Lowe, Evelyn and Allison McCann, Rachel Watton and Grace Lowe. Frances was also the sister of Marie Heeks of Kingston and the late Helen Brown. Also surviving are nieces and a nephew. A Funeral Service will be held in the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home 135 Union St. ROCKLAND on Friday February 27, 2009 at 11:30 AM Rev. Donald Remick will officiate.. Burial will take place in the spring at the Plympton Church Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Thursday, February 26, 2009 from 4:00-7:00 PM. Members of the Dorothy Bradford Chapter O.E.S. will conduct a service at 6:45 PM. Donations in her memory may be made to the Lewis Center U.M.C. 1081 Lewis Ctr. Road Lewis Center, OH 43035 attn. Board of Trustees.

    We will always remember the kindness and grace that was the essence of Frances and Wendell. Whenever we were lucky enough to be in Duxbury it was always a highlight to stop by the house and visit. They both are role models of kindness and grace for us.
