Obituary For Everett C. Ridley
Everett C. Ridley, 88 of Pembroke died on November 9, 2010 at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. He was born in Cambridge, son of the late Arthur and Martha (Cook) Ridley and was raised and educated in Winthrop graduating from Winthrop High School in 1939. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. A former resident of Whitman, Everett has made his home in Pembroke since 1961. He retired in 1998 after a distinguished career in the printing business having worked for Nichols and Eldridge Printing, Standard Modern Printing and Capeway Print in Hanover. An active member of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Hanover, he served as an usher for many years and volunteered his time and talent to countless committees of the church. He was a member of the Hanson Rod and Gun Club, South Shore Camera Club and the Wally Bynum Caravan Club. He was a Charter Member of the Hobomock Hoedowners Square Dance Club and a Life Member of the Good Sam Club. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Edith (Huntley) Ridley and his sons, Wayne Ridley of E. Bridgewater, Paul Ridley of Whitman and Glen Ridley of ME. He was the brother of the late Oscar Ridley and is also survived by 6 grandchildren a great grandson a niece and 2 nephews. The Ridley family welcomes friends and loved ones to celebrate Everett’s life at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in HANOVER on Saturday November 20, 2010 at 1:00 PM. Burial of his cremated remains will follow in the Huntley Memorial Garden of the church. Donations in his memory may be made to the Huntley Memorial Garden, 17 Church St. Hanover, MA 02339 The Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union St. ROCKLAND has been honored to serve the family.

Irving L. Smith
Everett was a friendof my parents, Irving and Marion Smith. He was the first non related adult that I recall being around our house. They danced together at Square Acres. Everett was probably the first adult to treat me as a human being, not just a kid.
