Eulalia “Lee” Jane Walsh Cook passed away at the age of 84 on February 8th 2022, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 1st, 1937 in Boston, MA, and was raised as a young girl in Mission Hill. Eulalia later moved to Rockland in 1947 where she was raised by her family. A devoted catholic and parishioner of Holy Family Church for 74 years. Daughter of the late Hazel Charlton and John Walsh, and sister of the late John Walsh, Eleanor Ricci, and Nana Martha Ware. She is survived by her brother, William Walsh and James Walsh.

Eulalia was the beloved wife of the late Trueman W. Cook of Rockland (together owned and operated Sunnyfields Farms Restaurant and Trueman’s Catering) with whom she was married for 47 years, until his passing. Together, they raised a beautiful family. Eulalia was a compassionate and devoted mother to Lisa Burns Cornell (Glen), Lynn Temme (Mark), Laurie Levine, Thomas Cook (Dr. Catherine Smith), Leslie Royle (Craig), and James Cook (Mryna). “Nana” to Thomas, Holly, Michael, Chris, Jamie, Ryan, Myles, Sarah, Joseph, Adam, and “Great Nana’ to Allison, Molly, Mia, Kelsey, Kerian, Nicholas, Kylie, Hunter, and Grayson. Eulalia was also predeceased by her son-in-law’s, the late Charles Burns Jr. and Larry Levine. Eulalia enjoyed her family more than life itself. She was a devoted Wife, Mother, Nana, and Great Nana. Momma loved playing the piano, singing, camping, football and planning family events, and anytime that she could get on the golf course. Eulalia was a constant shining light to her family, friends and community.

Holding your family in prayer. Loved Lee, she was the sweetest woman. I will always remember her coming in to Dr. Jacobs office saying, "Everyone can have the day off with pay!" So sorry I couldn't be with you for her services. My deepest sympathy, Maureen Mahoney RDH

When I was in the 5th grade Nana would pick us up from school occasionally, but I remember this one time an hour before school got out, my friends and I were gathered around the window and of course who do we see, Nana. She took her golf clubs out from the car and would putt and chip a golf ball around. she was always practicing her golfing while always living life to the fullest. Nana was and will continue to be with us every day. You are our sunshine 443 xoxo - Adam Trueman Royle

My heart is broken for all of you in the loss of this amazing and wonderful woman. I was a teenager when I met your family and I'll never forget the Huggs and happiness your Mom and Dad both always welcomed me with whenever I came over. (Huggs we're scarce at my house- my family was not "Huggy"). I am happy for your dad though. Truman finally gets to have his beautiful wife back in his arms again. Your parents were like mine in that they truly loved and were devoted to each other. (That's the only thing that helps me get through my own grief sometimes ... remembering how much in love my parents were right up to the very end of their lives and knowing that they are finally together again). Dementia is a brutal disease. I hope you all will be able to focus on all the happiest times you were blessed to have with her. May you Rest In Peace Lee... you will be greatly missed. 💝 Lin Dedekian

Nana from Myles A single memory can't embody this amazing Woman/ Mother/ Nana/ Great Nana. But I remember that she showed up to every golf meet and cheered me on. She would join us on the putting green and sink puts that nobody on the team could even do in their dreams. The match would start I'd tee of and away the loudest whistle would appear, wishing me luck. Id turn around grab my bag she would say swing easy when it's breezy, A saying I now write on every golf glove I play with. I'd then finish out the hole walk to the next T box and I'd see her always with a 143 waving in the air followed by a 443. She was always there for any of us. Our number 1 Fan.

To The Cook Family. I am sending all of you my love and prayer durning this time as you process the loss of your mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. I am inspired by your love and caring, your compassion and care. Dementia and Alzheimer's are hideous. It takes a strong family to pull together and do what you did to take care of Eulalia. It's a struggle but you gave your mother her dignity until the end. My heart breaks for you, as it does for all of us that lovingly serve as caretakers for those that suffer from this disease. May your mother Rest In Peace. Pam Henning

To the entire Cook family, I extend my deepest sympathy and love. My dear friend, Lee, was a remarkable lady whom I had the privilege of caring for prior to her Nursing Home admission. We had so many wonderful adventures! My dear friend loved our trips down to the Scituate Lighthouse, Nantasket Beach, and numerous beaches in the Marshfield area. She loved the ocean and was always completely at peace when at the ocean.. Very often we would sit by the ocean and sing....or I should say she would sing, knowing all the words from every song that I would suggest! Lee would talk about her family and tell me how much she loved them . My friend Lee was a true example of what it means to be a Christian. She always saw the good in everyone. I will always cherish my memories of her and I will always remember her special phrase "443.........Walk with God" If we all tried to walk with God how much happier the world would be! God Bless the entire Cook family and thank you for sharing this beautiful lady with me.

My Momma The negative, Momma's dementia, it's aweful, sad, and cruel. We can reflect on the last 10 years and feel it's bite. But one thing I learned from caring for mom is strength, to push away the negative, even in darkness, mom brought forth light, through sadness and tears she found laughter. So here are my positives. The positives; 1 her unconditional love for all her family. 2 reading, searching and learning what dementia is, still learning. 3 having a deeper love with siblings. 4 the beauty in Momma's eyes even when she seemed so distant. 5 Photos of years past growing up, experiencing things most never do. 6 girl talk when I was younger. 7 mom's endless care of everyone, my dad, her brother John, her grandkids, and my Charles, Nana Martha.. 8 strength of our prayers and our catholic faith, time in Holy Family Church together. 9 the many caregivers mom has had over the last couple years, your love is felt deeply. 10 the times at the light house finding shells and white rocks to place at Daddy's grave even on a cold windy day. 11 dinner together at dad's old restaurant reminiscing about the home she grew up in, now Rockland's cv. 12 Her reenactment of how she and dad met and fell in love. I know Momma doesn't want to look upon our sadness. If you read the dozens of sticky notes she left behind, you'd jnow she wanted us to rejoice, be glad, for God is always with us. Love you to infinity Momma, Lisa and Glen, and Ryan

Words cannot express the deep sadness I feel at the loss of Mama Cook. She was a Beautiful woman inside and out. My thoughts and prayers are with her entire family. I know what it's like to deal with Alzheimer's, it's a terrible disease that robs you of your loved one. With knowing this I know she's in a better place and she's home with our Lord and Savior and probably on the golf course with your dad. Love to all of you, Cindy Randall Laughinghouse

It is evident in knowing her daughter and grandchildren that Eulalia Cook was a remarkable gift to all who knew her. We are so very sorry to hear of her passing. Her family is testimony of how grace and wisdom come from a life lived to the fullest. In time, your grief will lessen, and you will find joy again through your memories. We know that is not much help to you now, but please know that you and your family are in our hearts and thoughts and we are here for you. Our love and sincerest condolences to the family.
