Ethel Ann (Norbut) Smith, 90 of Pembroke died on May 6, 2010 at the Baypath at Duxbury Nursing Facility after a long illness. She was born in Boston, daughter of the late Adam and Martha (Powers) Norbut and was raised and educated there. She later attended and graduated from the Yale University School of Nursing. Ethel had a lengthy career as a registered nurse at many nursing and extended care facilities. After her retirement, she and her late husband James A.C. Smith settled in Deerfield Beach , Florida. She is survived by her nieces, Nancy Gilmartin of Pembroke, Joanne Santos of Kingston and Edith Houlihan of FL. Mrs. Smith was predeceased by her siblings, Edward Norbut and Edith Reardon-Jones. Ethel’s family welcomes friends and loved ones to celebrate her life on Monday May 10, 2010 at a Funeral Mass in St. Joseph’s Church, 272 Main St. Kingston at 12:00 Noon. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. The Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home 135 Union St. ROCKLAND is assisting the family in their time of need.
