Obituary For Esther L. Churchill

Esther L. Churchill, 100 died March 28th in the South Shore Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center in Rockland after a brief illness. She was born in Rockland and educated in the Rockland public schools. Esther was a long time Rockland and Weymouth resident. Esther owned a Texaco service station in Rockland with her first husband the late Peter Hart for many years and also worked as a stitcher for E. T. Wright in Rockland and Stetson Shoe in Weymouth. Esther loved to knit for her family, enjoyed gardening and loved to gamble it could have been trips to Foxwoods, scratch tickets, harness racing the daily number or Bingo. She enjoyed it all. Esther is survived by cousins Robert Holbrook, Marilyn Worth, Meridith Poor, Sheila Plouf. She was the dear second cousin of Pamela Ross and her husband Arthur of Abington and Clifton Treco and his wife Debra of West Newbury. She was the wife of the late Guilford G. Churchill and late cousins Grace Treco and Evelyn Barker. A Funeral Service was held Monday, March 31st at 12 Noon in the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union St. ROCKLAND Calling was one hour prior to the service. Burial followed the Service Mt. Pleasant Cemetery Rockland. Memorial Donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
