Obituary For Ellen Louise White

Ellen L. White 85 of Hanover died on Thursday August 26, 2010 at the Norwell Knoll Nursing Center. She was born in Weymouth, daughter of the late John H. and Ruth A. (Mann) White and was raised and educated in Hanover. She was a graduate of Hanover High School in 1942 and later graduated from Burdett College in 1944. Ellen had been employed as the Director of Medical Records at the former Franklin Memorial Hospital in Greenfield and later served in the same capacity for 38 years at the Putnam Memorial Hospital in Bennington, Vermont until her retirement in 1982. Miss White was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Hanover and sang in both the church chorus and choir. She was also a member of the Medical Records Association of Massachusetts. She is survived by two sisters, Mary F. Sides of Hanover, Pauline A. “Polly� Fallon of Scituate and a brother, John L. White of Arizona. She enjoyed a special relationship with several generations of her nieces and nephews and was affectionately called H’Aunty! The White family welcomes loved ones and friends to celebrate Ellen’s life on Monday August 30, 2010 from 12:00-1:00 PM in the First Baptist Church, 560 Webster St. Hanover. A Funeral Service will commence at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow the service in Hanover Center Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to the First Baptist Church at the preceding address. The Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union St., ROCKLAND has been honored to serve Miss White’s family.
