Obituary For Eleanor Rogers

Eleanor (Valiquette) (Mahaney) Rogers, 93 of Abington, passed away peacefully at South Shore Hospital on October 23rd with her family by her side, after complications from a fall. Born in Tewksbury to Celina Valiquette (1910-1985), wife of the late Earl R. Rogers, much loved mother to Kathy Mahaney of VT. Tom, Cindy Rogers of Hanson, Steve Rogers, Elena Rogers of Rockland, the late James Rogers, Paul Rogers of Quincy and Tricia and David Doughty of Falmouth. Grandmother to 11, 14 great and 9 great great. Ellie lit up the room with her wit, and sense of humor. Always reading and looking for fun facts to share. She loved trivia and was a crossword extraordinaire. One of her favorite things to do was meet up for lunch, especially Chinese food. She was always up for family birthdays, and cook-outs, as her true enjoyment was to be with family and friends, including her companion of many years, Charlie Perkins. They truly enjoyed each other's company. Although meeting later in life, they were able to take several trips, including cruises and trips up North. They often could be found having lunch at The Inn on the Green in Whitman, and every Saturday at The American Legion for the meat raffles, for many wins. Ellie was a strong woman, and was able to live independently until just after her 91st birthday. This was possible with the help of her home aides. Thank-you to Jeruza, Theresa, Donna and Jeannie for taking such good care of our mom. A graveside funeral service will be held in the Hall Place Cemetery on 61 Crescent St. in Quincy on Saturday November 20, 2021 at 10:00 AM.
