Obituary For Eleanor R. Lockwood
Eleanor “Ellie” R. Lockwood (Falzone), 80, of Pembroke, MA, passed away peacefully at home, on August 5, 2026, after a battle with cancer.
Born on May 31, 1946, in Quincy, Massachusetts, to the late Peter and Jennie (Vaccarelli) Falzone, Eleanor was the beloved wife of the late Richard “Dick” L. Lockwood. She lived in Pembroke for over 50 years, building a life centered around her family, deep compassion for others, and a love of animals.
She grew up in Hingham and later moved to Pembroke where she and Dick raised their two sons in a home filled with unconditional love. She also dedicated many years to helping people, including working as a Home Health Aide at Norwell Visiting Nurses Association and later as a Member Services Associate for Blue Cross Blue Shield. Her caring nature extended far beyond her career. After retiring, she enjoyed volunteering, including caring for animals at the Scituate Animal Shelter.
Eleanor will be remembered most for her extraordinary kindness. She always had compassion for others and seemingly endless patience. Friends and family alike described her as the kindest person they ever knew. She found great joy in life’s simple pleasures: walking miles every day throughout Pembroke, picking blueberries, tending to her yard, making friends in Zumba classes, gathering with the potluck gang, and spending time with her cherished family.
She is survived by her sons, Joseph Lockwood of Pembroke, MA, and Matthew Lockwood, his wife Erica and her beloved granddaughter, Aria of Canton, MA; her sisters, Theresa Mooney and her husband Leroy of Hingham, MA, and Jennie Swenson and her husband Dick of Hanover, MA; her brothers, Alfonse Falzone and his wife Cindy of Norton, MA, and John Falzone of East Boston, MA; many loving nieces and nephews; and her cat, Phoenix.
She was predeceased by her husband, Dick, and her brother, Amedeo Falzone.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Ellie’s life at Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union Street, Rockland, MA, on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Eleanor's memory may be made to the Scituate Animal Shelter.

Although we have not seen each other in decades, I remember Eleanor as an upbeat and very kind cousin. I'm pleased that she had a happy life, and hope that her sons, granddaughter, and siblings have happy memories of their time together.
