Obituary For Eleanor M. Wood Sinkiewicz
Eleanor M. (Farrar) Wood Sinkiewicz, 94 of Hanover died on May 25, 2013 at the Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital. She was born in Norwell daughter of the late Georg and Minnie (Fitz) Farrar and was raised and educated there, graduating from Norwell High School.
Eleanor had served as a secretary at Westcott Construction Co. for many years prior to her retirement. She had been a long time Waitress at Sunnyfields Restaurant in Abington and she was a fixture serving as a bartender at the Hanover American Legion Post.
She was very proud of her longtime sponsorship of a child in India through the international organization, World Vision.
She is survived by her children, David G. Wood and his wife Joan of Stoughton, Laura Adrianne Davis of Carver, and Marilyn L. Sage and her husband Tom of Rockland. She was the sister of Laura Austin of Braintree and the sister-in-law of Madeline Farrar of Norwell. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson. She was pre-deceased by her son Edwin F. Wood and her brothers, Edwin, Harland, Lloyd and Ellsworth Farrar
The family welcomes friends and loved ones to celebrate her life at the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union St. Rockland on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 from 5:00-8:00pm. A Funeral Service will be celebrated on Thursday May 30, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Hanover Center Cemetery.
