Obituary For Eleanor E. Mosher

Eleanor E. Mosher (Peterson) passed away peacefully at her home in Rockland on August 28th, 2020. She had just celebrated her 93rd birthday on August 10th.

Eleanor was raised in Quincy and the daughter of the late Herbert and Anna Peterson, and sister to the late Ethel Bartuschat. She was a graduate of Quincy High School. She resided in Abington for many years where she raised her three children.

Eleanor was known for her beautiful singing voice and in 1947 was invited to sing with her sister Ethel on Radio Station WJDA. She recorded along with her sister Ethel a song called "I Wonder"! Eleanor worked for the New England Art in Abington for many years. She also worked for South Shore Hospital in various positions for many years and from there she retired.

She was known for baking delicious whoopie pies and to the delight of all would bring them to family events and holiday gatherings. Her granddaughter Meghan has now carried on the tradition. She was also very patriotic and loved to fly the American Flag by her front door.

Eleanor was an avid Red Sox fan and looked forward each spring for the baseball season to start. She enjoyed watching the games with her loving companion, the late Hugh McKenna. Together they also attended many a BINGO night where they agreed to split their winnings 50/50. Eleanor was known for her strength battling each medical event she endured. Her wit and sense of humor helped to pull her through. In recent years when confined to home, she received comfort from her adopted cat Emerson by her side or sitting on her lap.

Eleanor was very proud to become a Great Grandmother for the first time with the birth of her one and only Great Grandson William.

She enjoyed spending Tuesday afternoons having lunch with her friend the late Paul Currie at the Rockland Senior Center. She would make sure to be there for the end of the month birthday celebrations for birthday cake and coffee.

Eleanor will be missed by her children, grandchildren, great grandson, and her cat Emerson.

Eleanor is survived by her daughter Darlene Corcoran of Hanover, Richard Anderson and his wife Debbie of Abington. She was predeceased by her son Robert Anderson.

She is the cherished Grandmother of Meghan Flanagan and her husband Bill of Pembroke, Timothy Corcoran and Jillian Corcoran of Hanover, Rich Anderson Jr. and wife Stephanie of Abington, Jackie Anderson of Abington, and Dan Anderson and his wife Emma of NY. She is survived by many nieces and nephews.

Eleanor's family would like to thank the caregivers for the great care they provided to Eleanor at her home.
