Obituary For Eileen G. Manson

Eileen Manson, 87, passed away on Tuesday, December 3rd at her home in Rockland, Mass. Eileen was born at Boston City Hospital on March 21st, 1932, the daughter of Helen Doherty Manson and William Manson, both deceased. Eileen spent her early years in Dorchester and then Roslindale, where she lovingly cared for her elderly parents, later moving to Rockland, Mass., where she enjoyed many social activities with friends. Eileen graduated from Jeremiah E. Burke High School and attended Bentley School of Business. She worked for many years at Arbella Insurance Co. as a secretary. Friendships formed there lasted throughout her life. Eileen also found time for volunteer work at a local hospital gift shop where her greatest pleasure was befriending many of the children who were patients. In her leisure time she enjoyed crocheting and knitting and loved reading mystery novels and watching `Perry Mason'. Along with her parents, Eileen is predeceased by her dear sister Barbara Grimsley, brother-in-law Mark Grimsley, nephew Jerry Grimsley and grandnephew David Mills, all of Greenville, N.C. Also predeceased by sister-in-law Patricia Manson of Pembroke, Mass. and brother-in-law J. Gordon MacKenzie of Ellsworth, Maine. Eileen leaves a sister, Jean Manson MacKenzie of Maine and a brother, Ronald Manson of Pembroke, along with his partner, Kay Danielli of Melrose. Eileen also leaves her dear nieces Denise Mills and husband Mike of Georgia, Barbara Helen Clark and husband Bill of North Carolina, Linda Amirault and husband Jerry of Rockland, Caroline MacKenzie, Jenny MacKenzie and husband Garry Bowcott all of Portland, Maine. She leaves beloved nephews Mark Grimsley and wife Terry of Tenn., Ronald Manson of Pembroke and partner Corine Jewett, Alexander MacKenzie and wife Kathleen, John Mackenzie and wife Stephanie of Maine and dear cousin Karen Skoglund of Quincy. Eileen was Godmother to her adored grandniece, Lauren Amirault. She leaves many beloved grandnieces and nephews and longtime friends.

The Manson family invites friends and loved ones to celebrate Eileen's life on Sunday December 8, 2019 from 2:00-4:00 PM in The Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home. A Funeral Home Service will be held on Monday December 9, 2019 at 9:30 AM. Burial will follow in Forrest Hills Cemetery in Boston.

    Eileen and my Mom (Mary Ann Ohrenberger) have been very dear friends since their days at Arbella. I am writing this for my Mom who cherished their friendship. May Eileen rest in peace.
