Obituary For Eileen C. Hobson

Eileen C. (Hughes) Hobson, 70 of Kennebunk, Maine formerly of Boston died on Saturday May 17, 2000 at the Kennebunk Nursing Center. She was born in Boston, daughter of the late James and Bertha (Schleicher) Hughes and was raised and educated in the Mission Hill section of the city. She was a longtime Boston resident and has made her home in Maine for the past 28 years. Mrs. Hobson retired in 1998 after serving as a toll collector for the Maine Turnpike Authority for twenty years. She had previously been the manager of the transport department at the Peter Bent Brigham Hospital in Boston. She is survived by her husband Richard Hobson and her siblings Christine Ruley and Elizabeth Packer of Whitman, and Robert Hughes of Carver. She was also the sister of the late Doris Packer and Anna Galvin. A Funeral was held from the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home 135 Union Street ROCKLAND on Wednesday May 21st beginning with visitation at 8:45 AM. A Funeral Mass followed in St. Joseph the Worker Church in Hanson at 10:00 AM, Burial was in St. James Cemetery in Whitman. Donations in her memory may be made to St. Joseph the Worker Building Fund, 1 Maquan St. Hanson, MA 02341.

    I will always remember Eileen with a smiling face. She loved her kitty's and took such good care of them. Always a very kind and caring person. We will all miss seeing her around the York Animal Hospital but never forget her.
