Obituary For Edward T. Toohey

Edward T. Toohey, 84 of Rockland, died on June 14, 2010 at the South Shore Hospital in Weymouth. He was born in Boston son of the late Thomas and Gertrude (Cashman) Toohey and was raised and educated there. Mr Toohey was a proud veteran of the United States Army Air Corps. He was stationed in Texas throughout his service. Mr. Toohey made his career working for the Boston Gas Company, giving 35 years of service. Edward was a hard worker and had many jobs throughout his life, some of which include the Bull Crew at the Boston Garden, the Rail Road, and also the Brockton Veterans Administration. Edward was a true family man. Edward is survived by his wife, Anna M Toohey (Whelton) of Rockland. He was the Father of, Kevin W. Toohey of Plympton, Geraldine F. Hutchings of VA, Edmund J. Toohey of Westport, Noreen A. Hutchings-Horton of Hanover, Michael G. Toohey of Rockland, Liam P. Toohey of Rockland, and Tara M. Toohey of Weymouth. Brother of Joseph F. Toohey of Boston. Also survived by 16 Grandchildren, and 10 Great Grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. The Toohey family welcomes friends and loved ones to celebrate Edwards’s life on Thursday June 17, 2010 from 5-8 PM in the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home 135 Union St. ROCKLAND. A Funeral Service will be celebrated in the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home on Friday June 18, 2010 at 10:00 AM. Burial will take place in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
