Obituary For Edward J. Morrison

Edward J. Morrison, of Rockland died on October 18th at the South Shore Hospital in Weymouth after a period of failing health. He was born in Quincy, son of Edward J Morrison Sr. and Dorothy (Lane) Morrison. Edward was and was raised and educated in Quincy and in Randolph. He lived in Rockland for the last 5 years. Previously, Edward had lived in Rumford Maine for 15 years. A skilled cabinet maker, Mr. Morrison was most recently employed at the Eldred Wheeler Furniture Company in Hingham. Edward was a big sports fan. He enjoyed following the Red Sox, Patriots and his favorite NASCAR driver Tony Stewart. Edward was an avid fisherman who especially liked freshwater fishing for bass. Mr. Morrison is survived by his mother Dorothy J. (Lane) Morrison of Abington. Brother of David J. Morrison of Rockland, Scott A. Morrison of Berkeley, Neal J. Morrison of Quincy, Curt C Morrison of Lexington, MSGT Debra J Laythe of North Carolina, as well as several nieces and nephews. Also survived by his long time partner, Debra Gilcoine-Dickinson of Rockland. Donations may be made to American Cancer Society P.O. Box 22718 Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718. A Funeral was held from the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home on Tuesday at 8:15 AM. A Funeral Mass followed in the Holy Family Church at 9:00 AM. Calling Hours were held on Monday from 4-7 PM. The Funeral Mass was followed by cremation.
