Edward H. Cunningham, 80,of Rockland died on June 29, 2008 in his home in Rockland after a period of failing health. He was born in Cambridge in 1927, son of the late Bernard and Margaret (Fay) Cunningham. Edward was raised and educated in Cambridge graduating from St. Paul's High School. Mr. Cunningham was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army. Edward worked for many years as a Production and Project Planner for the SIGMA company which later became known as the Pacific Scientific Company retiring in 1989. Mr. Cunningham also served as Treasurer of Retirement Employment for the SIGMA Company. Mr. Cunningham was very active in the Rockland Leisurewood's Community in which he lived. He formerly served as the President of the Leisurewood's Homeowners Association, and enjoyed participating in the community's bowling, and bingo leagues. He was also giving of his time, volunteering for several years at the South Shore Hospital in Weymouth and with the Meals on Wheels Program. He is survived by his loving wife Shirley (Vincent)Cunningham. Father of Shirley N. Cunningham of Malden, Alan E. Cunningham of ME, and Margaret F. O'Neil of Stoughton. Brother of Bernard J. Cunningham of N.C. Grandfather of Ryan and Ty Cunningham of MA. A Funeral will be held on Thursday, July 3rd at 11:00 AM in the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union St. ROCKLAND. Burial will follow in the Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton. Calling hours will be on Wednesday, July 2nd from 4-7 PM.
