Obituary For Dorothy L. Miller

Dorothy Louise (Bowser) Miller, 90 of Rockland died on April 19, 2018 with her children bedside at the Queen Anne's Nursing Home in Hingham. She was born on December 8, 1927 in Weymouth to the late James and Louise (St. Onge) Bowser. Dorothy was raised and educated in Rockland and was a graduate of Rockland High School where she was class sweethearts with, and would eventually marry, the late George Miller.

After graduation from Rockland High School in 1945, Dorothy worked for the New England Telephone Company. The foundation of Dorothy's life was her family, they were the cornerstone of what was most important to her.

Dorothy was a devoted wife to her husband and actively assisted him in running the family business and with his involvement with numerous community service organizations that included the Jaycees, Rotary and Kiwanis Clubs. Also, Dorothy was a member of the Rockland Baptist Church.

Mrs. Miller was the loving mother of Pamela A. (Miller) and her husband Stephen P. Sangster of Hanover and Peter B. Miller and his wife Eileen J. of RI. Dorothy was the sister of the late James Bowser, Ardele Grant, Fred Bowser and Lloyd Bowser. She leaves behind her five grandchildren, Sherrie Fernandes, Kristen Quagliariello, Ruby May Miller, Evelyn Miller and Samuel Miller. Dorothy will be missed by her loving great grandchildren, Nicholas Quagliariello, Nathan Quagliariello, Nora Quagliariello, Madelyn Fernandes and Mackenzie Fernandes, along with several nieces and nephews who will miss her. The family welcomes friends and loved ones to celebrate Dorothy's life on Tuesday April 24, 2018 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union Street Rockland, MA. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday April 25, 2018 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Rockland.
