Obituary For Dorothy L. Damon

Dorothy L. (Blanchard) Damon, 102 of Abington died on April 21, 2016 at the South Shore Nursing Facility in Rockland. She was born in Abington Daughter of the late Alton and Margaret (Pike) Blanchard and was raised and educated there.

She had been a longtime clerk at the former RIP'S Wholesale Co. in Abington. She was an active member of the United Church of Christ in Abington participating in the bible study and several other church activities. Dorothy was also a member of the Abington Council on Ageing.

Wife of the late James I. Damon, she is survived by her children, Alan E. Damon of NY, Judith E. Bouchie of Hanson, Linda J. Goldman of Dedham and James L. Damon of OK. Also surviving are grandchildren and 1 great grandchildren she was preceded in death by her grandsons Scott Damon and Daniel Goldman. The family welcomes loved ones and friends to celebrate her life on Sunday, April 24, 2016 at the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union Street, Rockland from 6:00-8:00 PM. A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, April 25, 2016 at 11:30AM. Burial will follow in Mt. Vernon Cemetery in Abington.

    Very cherished memories of "Aunt Dot" visiting in Nova Scotia and my visit to her home many years ago....always so thoughtful,she sent many pencils and erasers in the mail to us as children..sending thoughts and prayers to her children and families

    Aunt Dot lived a good life and loved her family. Her sister Thelma will be up there to greet her with Nana and Papa and Uncle Jimmy. Sorry she lost two grandchildren and our condolences to their parents. We miss all of you, love from the Bill Meeker family.

    So sorry for the loss. She had a blessed life at her age. I loved my Aunt Dot like a mother. May all of her surviving family find comfort together and know our prayers and thoughts are with all.

    I am so sorry to hear that Dorothy has passed. The last time I saw her and Jim was when John and I were married in 1990. My heart goes out to the family.

    I have many fond memories of Aunt Dot's visits to us in Nova Scotia. She was a very kind, genuine person that took an interest in everyone that she met.
