Obituary For Dorothy A. Lennon

Dorothy A. (Kowalker) Lennon, 82 of Rockland died on February 2, 2017 at the South Shore Hospital. She was born in Boston, daughter of the late George A. and Marie (Clisham) Kowalker and was raised and educated in the Dorchester neighborhood of the City.

Mrs. Lennon had been a resident of Rockland for 57 years. She had been employed as a Nurse's Aide at the Colony House Nursing Home in Abington for 35 years. Dot was passionate about her 11 years of service as a volunteer at the Rockland Food Pantry. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and loved the beach and traveling.

She was the wife of the late Francis X. Lennon and the mother of Katherine M. Billings and her husband Douglas of Rockland, Robert F. Lennon and his wife Karen of Nashua, NH, Deborah E. Lennon of Harwich and David M. Lennon and his wife Helenia of Windermere, FL. She was the sister of David Kowalker and his wife Maureen of Brockton and the late George Kowalker. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Rachel K. Burke, Stephen M. Burke, Noelle K. Burke, John W. Grady, Joshua D. Billings, Shaun F. Billings, Emily J. Lennon, Abigail R. Lennon, David M. Lennon, Jr., Alexandra Lennon and a group of very special friends.

The family welcomes friends and relatives to celebrate her life on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union Street Rockland from 5:00-8:00 PM. Services and burial will be at the convenience of the family. Donations in her memory may be made to the Rockland Food Pantry 12 Church St. Rockland, MA 02370.

    My heart and mind are full of wonderful memories of Debi's beautiful mother. I spent endless days at the Lennon house and truly loved Mrs. Lennon. She was a strong caring woman and I will treasure my memories forever. God bless Kathy Bob Debi and David and all of her grandchildren that she loved and adored. I know how much you are all going to miss her.

    I HAD THE PLEASURE OF WORKING WITH DOTTIE AT CONONY HOUSE NURSING HOME SO WE GO BACK MANY YEARS. MY SYMPATHIES TO HER FAMILY GRANDCHILDREN AND HER BROTHER DAVE AND SIL MAUREEN. SHE WILL BE MISSED AND SHE DID ENJOY THE FOOD PANTRY. WILL MISS HAVING FISH AND CHIPS ON FRIDAY NIGHTS. RIP MY FRIEND. YOU WILL SURELY HAVE A SPOT IN HEAVEN. SUCH A WARM HEART AND ALWAYS KIND TO HER PATIENTS.
