Doris Mary Webb Belocas passed away on June 6, 2026, at the age of 101, surrounded by family. Doris, Gram to most who knew her, lived a life full of love, with family and friends at the center. She was happiest cooking each person’s favorite food, dancing with her husband George, playing cards, holding the newest baby, cooking for and befriending the nuns at Cardinal Spellman Convent, traveling across the states to visit her brothers, and getting a Yahtzee with all fives.

Born on May 16, 1925, Doris was raised in Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts. At 17, she took a solo train trip to Chicago to marry her husband George at the Navy Pier Chapel on her 18th birthday. They raised their children in Rockland, MA, and she spent her adult life in South Shore, MA. Known by many of her nieces and nephews as “Saint Doris,” she exemplified all that is good in the world, embracing everyone with her unconditional love.

Doris is survived by her three children: Elaine Belocas, John Belocas, and Christina McPhee, and the three children she gained through marriage: Marylou (McLaughlin) Belocas, Alan McPhee, and Alfred Gallo. Auntie Doris, you will definitely be missed in my life. From you being a neighbor until I was 6 years old and watching over me when my parents had to be away . Then when we moved to the western part of the state we kept in touched through the years with lots of visits. I thank you for coming for visits with my dad . And holding his hand as he passed. You always had a special place in my heart. We are sending our deepest sympathy to our cousins. You were blessed to have such a wonderful Mother, Gram, Great Gram, and Great Great Gram. Love Patty and Frank
