Doris Agnes (Nelson) Burns (70) passed away peacefully on May 1, 2023 at her home in Hanover. Doris was the daughter of the late Walter W. Nelson and Agnes (Balonis) Nelson. She was a graduate of Rockland High School and lived in Rockland for most of her life. She is survived by her children, Michael P. Burns of Hanover, Jason D. Burns of New Hampshire, and Janis E. Burns of Boston. She was the sister of Ann Marie (Nelson) McPate of Punta Gorda, FL, Nancy (Nelson) Munroe of Littleton, MA, Walter Nelson of Taunton, MA, and Donna (Nelson) Burns of Ft Myers, FL. Doris was predeceased by her sister Kathryn (Nelson) MacDonald and brother Kenneth Nelson. She was the grandmother to Cassidy, Angelina and Janiya and is survived by many nieces and nephews. Services will be private.

Doris enjoyed doing crafts and especially loved collecting Boyds Bears.
