I am so sorry to hear about Don. He was one of my co-teachers when I first started my teaching career at the North School along with Bill Flanagan and Chris Tarpey. I could not have had a better mentor. We taught together for 10 years. I will always remember his kindness, thoughtfulness and wonderful sense of humor. He touched the lives of so many students and made a memorable and positive difference in their lives. I am so glad I got to see Don at the North School 50th anniversary celebration. RIP, Don, you will be missed. Sending thoughts, prayers and hugs to the family, who he was so proud of and spoke of often. I know heaven has gained another angel. Take care...

I had the pleasure of student teaching at the North School and although Don was not the teacher I was working with, he helped me so much! I had the pleasure of working recreation with him for many years as well and consider myself lucky to have done so. The one thing I always think of when I think of Don, was his laugh! Thank you Don for all you did for me and for all the kids in Stoughton! Rest in peace.

So sad to learn of this. Was fortunate to have Mr. Metcalf as my teacher in 1988 at the North School. He peaked my interest in politics as he discussed the Presidential Election with me that year and I went on to work at The White House later in life. He always looked to challenge us, bring out the best and can't even count the number of kids he played a vital role in the lives of. Rest In Peace Mr. Metcalf.
