Obituary For Donald M. Unwin

Donald M. Unwin, 85 of Rockland died on Monday April 14, 2008 at the South Shore Rehab and Skilled Nursing Center in Rockland after a period of failing health. He was born in Grafton, Vermont son of the late Simon and Lucy (Tuttle) Unwin and has made his home in Rockland since 1938. Mr. Unwin was an Army veteran of World War II serving in the armored division. Donald retired after a 37 year career working for the Gem Gravure Company in Hanover developing inks for use in the wiring industry. Husband of the late Barbara (Heffernan) Unwin, he is survived by two sons, Donald J. Unwin and his wife Jean of Halifax and Robert E. Unwin and his wife Linda of Rockland. He was the brother of Anna Rogers of VT, Shirley Eddy of VT, Eleanor Lyons of ME and Etta "Bunny" Bombard of CT. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A Funeral will be held from the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home 135 Union Street ROCKLAND on Friday, April 18th at 8:15 AM. A Funeral Mass will follow in Holy Family Church at 9:00 AM. Burial will be at the Holy Family Cemetery in Rockland. Calling hours will be on Thursday, April 17th from 5-8 PM. Donations in his memory may be made to the patient Activities Account c/o South Shore Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility, 115 North Ave. Rockland, MA 02370.
