Donald A. Wood, 92 of Hanson died at his home after a period of failing health on October 13, 2013. He was born in Weymouth, son of the late Alton and Mary (St. George) Wood. He was raised and educated in Hanover graduating from Sylvester High School and later served in the Army during World War II.

Mr. Wood had been the longtime Service Manager at Damon Pontiac in Abington retiring in 1980. He loved to fish especially on his trips to Florida and also enjoyed thoroughbred horse racing. He was an avid fan of both the Patriots and the Red Sox.

Husband of the late Evelyn (Damon) Wood, he is survived by many nieces and nephews in Massachusetts, Florida and California. He was also the brother of the late Alton Wood, Jr. and Pearl Wood.

The family welcomes friends and loved ones to celebrate his life on Thursday, October 17, 2013 in the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union St. Rockland from 5:00-8:00 PM. A Funeral Service will be celebrated at 11:30 AM on Friday, October 18, 2013 in the funeral home. Burial will follow the service in the Marshfield Hills Cemetery.
