Obituary For Dianne M Wentworth

Dianne M. (Coveney) Wentworth of Rockland, MA, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2025.

Dianne was the beloved daughter of the late William and Bertha Coveney. She was born on February 21, 1942, and was the youngest of eight children. Dianne grew up in South Weymouth.

Dianne married the love of her life, Russell Wentworth, on August 18, 1961. Together, they shared nearly 64 years of wonderful marriage. They bought a home in Rockland and raised their family.

Dianne worked at Whittaker’s Rest Home in South Weymouth for over 25 years, where she found great joy in helping others and made lifelong friends. After retirement, she volunteered for Holy Family Church. She loved her parish.

Mom loved the beach; she enjoyed reading, scrapbooking, crafts, and shopping. Most of all, Mom cherished being with her family. She was so proud of all of us.

She is survived by her husband, Russell Wentworth; son Patrick McAvoy; daughter Eileen Weixler and her husband John; daughter Nancy Hoye; and son Russell Wentworth and his wife Carla. She was Nana to her ten grandchildren: Kerry, Christine, Meghan, Billy, Kevin, Nicole, Katie, Chloe, Aislinn, and Steven. She also leaves eight great-grandchildren: Nash, Paris, Victoria, Noah, Lucas, Aaliyah, Blair, and Claire. Dianne is survived by her sister, Janet Herlihy of Burlington. She was predeceased by her sisters, Sister Mary Therese and Bertha Coveney, and by her brothers William Coveney, Joseph Coveney, James Coveney, and John Coveney. She also leaves many nieces and nephews.

We welcome family and friends to celebrate Mom’s life on Monday, August 11, 2025, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union St., Rockland, MA.
