Obituary For Dianne M. Dowling

Dianne Marie Dowling, 74, of Rockland Massachusetts, sadly left us on April 4, 2024.

Dianne is survived by her loving husband of 55 years William (Bill) Dowling also from Rockland, her son William (Bill) and wife Holly Dowling from East Bridgewater, Johnathan (John) and Susie from East Bridgewater, Joshua and his wife Liliane Roach from Rockland, Dianne’s six beautiful grandchildren, Betsy Mae from New Hampshire, Nelson from Plymouth, Jessica, Ariana, Connor, and Sean from East Bridgewater, her sister Joanne and husband Mike Coleman of Naples, FL. as well as many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her brother John (Jack) Richardson, her sister Helen Anne Pepi and her parents John and Helen Richardson. She will be missed by her dear friends Patricia Lindberg and Marcy Tittlebaum.

Dianne grew-up in Hyde Park with her family. Dianne graduated from Boston Trade School studying Cosmetology. She began her career at Mass General Hospital for 19 years in the Communications Department. There she met many lifelong friends.

Dianne and Bill opened their home up for countless children in need of a loving family to care for them for over 25 years. They have touched the lives of many children that will never be forgotten.

Dianne loved to travel with her family. They went on countless cruises, trips to Florida and California, vacationed during the summer in Vermont and spent many years enjoying what life had to offer.

Dianne loved to cook, bake, and sew. She was famous for her mac and cheese as well as chocolate chip cookies. She entertained family and friends until all hours of the night talking, cooking, or sewing, Dianne was the life of the party who made her presence known. Anyone who knew Dianne already loved her kind, warm, caring, loving spirit and she had many friends who loved her dearly.

Please join us to celebrate Dianne’s life at Holy Family in Rockland Mass on Monday, May 20th at 9:00 AM followed by a burial at the Milton, MA cemetery on Centre St.

Death ends a life not a relationship. All the love you have created is still there. All the memories are still there.

So sorry for your loss. Couldn't ask for a better neighbor and friend

  • 05/10/2024

Dianne was my very first friend. We were neighbors in Hyde Park. I was six and she was four. We remained best buds until my family moved to Florida. Although we drifted apart, it was Diane's tenacity to reconnect. Her whit, kindness and beautiful heart only grew with the years. This world is truly saddened by her leaving. I can only imagine what happiness she brings as her soul lives on. Jeanne (Garte) Johnson-Whatley.
