Obituary For Diane P. (Goodine) Johnson

Diane P. ( Goodine) Johnson,73, of Norwell, died peacefully on August 25, 2014 at the South Shore Nursing Facility in Rockland with her children by her side. She was born in Boston, daughter of the late Carl and Viola Johnson. She was raised and educated in Milton. Diane took great pride in her Swedish heritage. She was born from a family of sail-makers who emigrated to the United States in the 1920's. Her family used their skills at sail-making and started Peterson Awning Company in Massachusetts. Diane worked for many years as a Nursing Assistant at Queen Anne Nursing Home in Hingham, where she was incredibly devoted to her patients. Diane loved dressing to the nines and dancing, loved animals, was devoted to her faith in Jesus, and most importantly loved and was proud of her family. Diane leaves behind her son, Scott E. Edwards of Pembroke, daughter Lauren D. Patenaude and her husband, John of Abington, daughter Hope V. Hockney and her husband, Keith of Abington, and eight Grandchildren. Diane's family invites friends and loved ones to celebrate her life at Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union Street, Rockland on Wednesday August 27, 2014 from 5:00-8:00 PM. A Funeral Home Service will be held on Thursday August 28, 2014 at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in The Milton Cemetery.
