Obituary For Delores Woods
Delores Woods, 83 of Hanover died after a long illness at the Southwood Nursing Home in Norwell, MA.
She was born on February 24,1935 in Danville,Va to the late Walter and Caledonia (Owens) Haymes. Delores was raised and educated in Danville and attended Langston High School. She was the devoted wife of the late Mark Woods.
Mrs. Woods worked as a psychiatric nurse for the Department of Veterans Affairs and Irvington General Hospital in New Jersey. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hanover and was an active member at Unity Freedom in New Jersey as a Willing Worker and Scholarship Committee member.
Delores loved nothing more than her family. She enjoyed hosting, entertaining and travelling. Known for her love of food, amazing southern meals along with top notch sweet potatoes pies. She was preceded in death by her grandson Christopher Valliere and her great grandson Kingsley Muganga. She was the loving mother of Claunett Valliere and her husband Gene of Hanover. Delores was the sister of the late Addie McCellon, Novella Williams, Annie Spraggins, Thomas Haymes and Nathaniel Haymes. She leaves behind her grandchildren Gabrielle Valliere-White, Joelle Muganga, and Dawn Anderson. She will be dearly missed by her great grandchildren Anthony, Andrew, Michelle, Anna Rose, Maya,Isaiah and Alana. She will be fondly remembered by several nieces and nephews that she dearly loved. The family welcomes friends and loved ones to celebrate her life on Tuesday May 15, 2018 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home 135 Union Street Rockland, MA 02370. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday May 16, 2018 at 10:30 AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Hanover Center Cemetery.

Claunett (Cookie) I am so sadden to hear of the passing of Delores, I am truly going to miss her. I will miss our laughter and conversation on the phone. Claunett I am trusting that the Lord will be very close to you now, and hoping it comforts you to know that your loved one is safe in his arms.
