There are many words that come to my mind and heart when I reflect on the life of my precious sister, Deborah: Kindness, hard worker, dedicated Mom, daughter, sister, silly, funny, loyal friend and amazing are just a few of them. She had a heart filled with love and stood strong when times were rough. She loved her boys and loved to share about their accomplishments. She took every step she could to help them to grow into the honorable men that they are today. I remember seeing my sister's face resplendent with joy on the day her son Dave married Erin; that memory will be forever etched upon my heart.
I've heard people say that they were born to do . Well Deborah was absolutely born to be a Grandmother! No one was ever more happy, more proud, more delighted to have grandchildren than Deborah. There was a lilt in her voice when she would talk to me over the phone about her Tessa and her Conor. The hundreds of miles between us couldn't diminish the thrill she evidenced when speaking about them. Even now I'm very confident that Deborah prefaces her heavenly conversations with, Let me tell you about my Grandkids!
In His own time, Our Merciful Father decided it was time for His daughter, my sister, Deborah, to come home to be with Him in a special place He had prepared just for her. Several people have said to me over the last few days, I'm sorry that you lost your sister. My response has been, I didn't lose her, I gained her for all eternity! See you in Heaven, Deborah! --Love, Merideth

    To David, Max and family:
We so enjoyed working with and getting to know your mother during the few years we were involved with the junior high fellowship at the church. She was such a positive, giving and caring woman. Your lovely video will help to keep her memory alive. Please know you are in our thoughts and prayers.

I am so sad to have just learned of Deborah's passing. We became friends many years ago when working in Boston. She was a wonderful person and I admired her very much. We took our first vacation together to Bermuda and had a blast. I'll always remember her fondly. My sincere condolences to her family.

Dear David, Max and family -- I just learned about your mom's passing, having heard about it from my dad, who used to run into her at Shaw's from time to time. I'm so very sorry for your loss! I have so many great memories of your mom -- as a den-mom in Pack 39, from her ferrying us around in the station wagon, and so on. In particular I really remember her laugh, very vibrant and full of life! I hope you can take strength from the good memories. Thinking of you all and sending love, Hal Mackins
