Obituary For David Alen Thompson
David A. Thompson, age 62, of Hanover, MA passed away peacefully at home on Friday evening, March 27, 2020, surrounded by his family. He was lovingly cared for by his 2 children and Hospice of the South Shore. Beloved husband of the late Susan M. Thompson (Strassell), father to Shannon Dahill (James) and David (Amy). Brother to Sally Tibbetts and Shirley Ainslie of Hanover, Margie Tyrie of Norwell, Edwin Thompson of FL and the late Jerry Thompson of FL. Son of the late Lewis G. and Amy E. (Lawes) Thompson. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. David was born in Weymouth. He was educated in Hanover then began a career building boats at Boston Whaler. He later received his associate's degree in telecommunications at Wentworth Institute of Technology.
David will be remembered by friends and family doing what he loved most: fishing, tending to the smoker making his famous ribs, working in the vegetable garden and most importantly playing music on the Hammond B3 with friends and family.
As a precaution, no services will be held. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider becoming an organ donor or making a donation to the Hospice of the South Shore.
