Daniel P. "Mac" McLaughlin (79) of Rockland, died on July 24, 2019. Dan was born in Boston, son of the late James "Bunny" and Anna (Sullivan) McLaughlin and was raised and educated there. Brother of Gerald McLaughlin and his late wife Hazel of Foxboro, the late Mary (McLaughlin) Amendola and her late husband Joseph of Brookline, the late James McLaughlin and his wife Barbara of Rockland, the late Thomas McLaughlin and his wife Pauline of Brookline, the late Eugene McLaughlin and his wife Pat of Roslindale, and the late John McLaughlin also of Roslindale. Mr. McLaughlin worked for many years as a proud member of the Local #829 Teamsters Union. Dan was honored to have been elected many years as The Union Local Representative, Business Agent, and Secretary Treasurer. Mr. McLaughlin was a devoted father and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his four grandchildren and entertaining family by his pool in the summer months. He valued hard work and a good work ethic, which was shown through his ability to perform any home or auto repair. Always quick with a good joke or story, he had the ability to charm anyone who crossed his path. Dan is survived by his 4 children, Sean McLaughlin and his Wife Theresa of Dorchester, Joseph McLaughlin and his Wife Amy of Hanover, Shauna McLaughlin and Marianne McLaughlin, both of Rockland, and remembered fondly by the Mother of his children, Joan McLaughlin. Cherished grandfather of Taryn, Jacey, Karysa and Hunter. Dan is also survived by his longtime girlfriend Juli Creedon of Randolph and will be dearly missed by many nieces and nephews. The McLaughlin family invites friends and loved ones to celebrate Dan's life on Wednesday, July 31, 2019 from 5:00-8:00 at The Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union Street, Rockland MA 02370. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated, Thursday August 1, 2019 at 9:00 AM at The Holy Family Church in Rockland. Services will be followed by cremation.
