To Dan's family, Dan was my letter carrier. He always had a smile on his face and a kind word to say. He is sadly missed by all the people on "his route". My thoughts and prayers to all of his family and friends. Rest in peace Dan!

Although we only knew Dan through his job as our mailman, he will be sorely missed. Dan could really brighten a day with his friendly banter and the children all loved him. It says a lot about a man when the people who see him for less than five minutes a day feel a real loss. To his friends and family, you are in our thoughts and prayers. Dan we miss you.

So sorry to see that this man pass away.... He was loved by all of us at Thaxter Park in Hingham. He was the sunshine on dreary days....He always had a smile on his face and he beamed with love when showed those two little babies of his. The last words he ever said to me was ..."Pat, I'm so sorry to hear about Casey( my dog, that I had to put down) and it was so heart felt. He was truly a good man. Through Tears of sadness..You will be truly missed here...my friend. I think everyone here at Thaxter Park has a good story about this man....His kindness and generosity was way over and above his duty as a mailman. God has a special place for Dan. Love from all of us at Thaxter Park..R.I.P....with God's love, Pat Neely

Dan Rogers was by far the best letter carrier I ever knew - efficient, friendly, kindly and helpful. More than once he brought my dog Wilson home when he had wandered; and Dan was genuinely solicitous when he learned of my illness. I miss him.

We were so saddened to hear of Dan's passing. All of us will miss his daily trips through our yard to deliver the mail. He always had a kind word and a smile for the kids. Although each visit was brief, a big part of our day will be missing. Our thoughts and prayers to Dan's family.

Our entire family and neighborhood on Thaxter Street is incredibly sad to hear that Dan has died. You see here how many mentioned his smile and he was so nice. It is so very true. What a joy to have someone like Dan, enjoying what he was doing, stopping and talking with us. He knew us ALL by first names. He would give us a heads up when he was going on vacation or had some time off. He was always easy going. He was always friendly. Always efficient. Always cared for us and what he was delivering, taking care to keep things dry. And at the holidays, I so enjoyed baking for him. He always put a thank you note in our mailbox after baked goods or Dunkin card. It was he we were thanking! He became a part of our neighborhood and our lives, and he will be so dearly missed. He will be a missing link here on Thaxter Street. Please know you are all in our thoughts and prayers, and how sorry we are for your loss to your family and the the Post office family. He was a special and kind man.

For 30 years we were married through many trials and tribulations. We had some good times and obviously some bad times, but we ended up with 2 amazing children, Keri and Joe and 6 beautiful grandchildren. You were there for your stepchildren, Dawn and Steve as well. You will always have a special place in my heart.

Daniel Rogers was my letter carrier for many years. My very personal and deepest sympathy goes out to the entire Rogers family. I was out of town when he died. He had mentioned thinking about retirement. I only recently became aware that he had died. He was a very good representative of the US Postal Service, always friendly and helpful. Five years ago when my son, Gregory, died suddenly, Daniel Rogers could not have been kinder to my wife and me. That kindness continued when my wife, Sally, died tree years ago. Daniel Joseph Rogers, May You Rest in Peace
