Obituary For Daniel G. Maul

Daniel G. Maul, 56 of Whitman died at the McCarthy Care Center in Sandwich on July 17, 2016 after a brief period of failing health. He was born in Weymouth and was raised and educated in Abington. He was a graduate of Abington High School and later attended Boston State University where he played hockey Dan has made his home in Whitman since 2002. Mr. Maul was a self-employed plastering contractor and a tremendous hockey player. He was an avid Bruins, Patriots and Red Sox fan. He also coached many Rockland sports including Baseball, Hockey and Softball. He enjoyed playing poker at Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun. Son of the late Ann (Treannie) Maul, he is survived by his wife Patricia L. Chambers, his father Robert E. Maul and his children, Mellyssa Maul of New Bedford, Daniel Maul and fiancé Sophia Harlow of Hanson, Meghan Rider and husband Charles Rider of Mattapoisett, Stepson Christopher Chambers of Whitman, Nicholas Maul of Abington and Sarah Maul of Whitman. He was the brother of Robert J. Maul and wife Ann Marie Maul of Plymouth and also survived by 5 grandchildren and the late stepson Derek Chambers. The family welcomes friends and relatives to celebrate his life on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union Street Rockland from 5:00-8:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday July 21, 2016 at 9:00 AM at Holy Family Church. Burial will follow in Holy Family Cemetery in Rockland. Donations in his memory may be made to the McCarthy Care Center, 73 Service Road, Sandwich, MA 02357.

    My deepest condolences to the Danny Maul Family. He was a tremendous person to be around with an infectious laugh and tremendous drive to be the best. For the 20+ years we played Hockey together his desire to be the best never stopped until he had to decide between hockey and making a living.. he knew what to do! I will always be grateful for the hockey games we played in, the many venues we played hockey together as he was a pure and special talent as well as great teammate!
