Daniel Cronin, 56, of Rockland, passed away on July 5th after a long and courageous battle with numerous health issues.

Danny is survived by his sisters Teri and Margie, and brothers John, Jimmy, and Dennis. He now joins his parents, Joesph and Pauline, along with his siblings Joey and Pattie, where we’re sure they’re already throwing one hell of a party.

Danny was a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews, all of whom will miss his big personality, inappropriate jokes, and hilarious tall tales—most of which he absolutely made up on the spot. He could spin a story better than anyone, and whether or not it was true didn’t matter—he told it like it was gospel.

He was also infamous for “the nub”—a shortened finger from an old accident—which he’d proudly use to mess with people during handshakes, usually just to see the look on their faces. Classic Danny.

A diehard sports fan, he rooted for every Boston team, but also had a stubborn love for Michigan football and the Miami Dolphins (nobody’s perfect). If there was a game on, Danny was watching. And yelling.

Danny had an unmatched ability to light up a room and was always the first to crack a joke—and usually the only one who could actually deliver the punchline. He was the family’s unofficial fixer, always knowing someone who “could take care of it,” no questions asked.

Outside of his family, Danny had another home—the Eagles —where he was a constant presence and considered it his second family. His absence will be deeply felt by everyone who knew him there.

A celebration of life will be held on December 27th from 2-6pm at the Eagles Hall (Rockland, MA), and it’s safe to say there will be laughter, good stories, and more than a few beers—just how Danny would have wanted it.
