Cynthia (Cindy) S. Grindall of Weymouth, MA died peacefully at South Shore Hospital on August 12, 2026, surrounded by family and close friends. She was 74.

Born in Quincy, she was the daughter of the late Simon L. Gallant and Ida L. (Haroth) Gallant. Cindy was the beloved wife of the late Bruce G. Grindall to whom she was married for 46 years.

Cindy is survived by her sister, Marsha (Muffy) Begley and her husband Dave of South Weymouth along with their children:David and his wife Linda of Norwell, Steven and his wife Geraldine of Manhattan, and Maureen Sweeney and her husband Patrick of Hanson. Cindy was the proud great aunt to Emily, Ashley, and David Begley, and Conor and Miles Sweeney, who all lovingly referred to her as “Nini”.

Cindy graduated from Weymouth High School in 1970 and later focused on culinary arts through Quincy Vocational Technical School. Her passions were cooking, baking, entertaining and, of course, shopping. Cindy enjoyed cooking for crowds, whether it was hosting family holiday gatherings or casual barbecues by the pool. All were welcome and nobody left hungry. She especially enjoyed holiday traditions with her grandnieces and grandnephews – baking Christmas cookies and candy, decorating gingerbread houses and Easter eggs.

Her idea of travel was to “go with the kids”. Whether it wasDisney World, Christmastime in New York City, a getaway to the mountains of New Hampshire or beaches of Cape Cod –Cindy was “all in”.

Cindys family wishes to invite friends and family for visiting hours on Thursday August 27, 2026 from 11AM-1:30 PM at Magoun Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union Street Rockland MA, 02370.

Burial will be private.
