Obituary For Cornell "Mac" McWilliams

Cornell McWilliams, lovingly known as Mac, age 67 of Rockland, MA. Died on February 14, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on August 15, 1950 in Montgomery, AL to Bobbie Lee and Doris (Davis) McWilliams. Preceding the death of his mother Doris, Mac's early years were spent in Camden, AL where he was raised by his late grandmother and late uncle; Mac was later reunited with his father and his new stepmother Henrietta (Friendly) McWilliams in Roxbury, MA, whom he loved dearly. Mac graduated from Brighton High School and earned his Associate's Degree in Psychology at Roxbury Community College. With his degree he went on to work at Boston State Hospital in Mattapan, and then moved on to work for the MBTA where he retired after 23 years of service. Unable to stay retired, Mac went on to work at Bagnell Auto Supply.

Mac was the loving husband of Carmen L. (Alicea) McWilliams. Mac was a Jack of All Trades who loved fishing and spending time with his family. He will be remembered for his quick wit and his amazing cooking. Along with his wife Carmen, Mac leaves behind his children Teadris Pope-Branche and her husband Garfield of Brockton, Cornell McWilliams II of Rockland, Lydia D. McWilliams of Rockland, Lejaun Pope of Dorchester and Michelle McWilliams of Fitchburg. Mac was the brother of the late Yvonne McCall, Monroe McCall, Bobbie Jean McWilliams and Nelson Taylor. He is survived by his grandchildren Jaydon & Ethan Branche, and Tavia Jean Frances. He will be dearly missed by Bobbie & William Carruthers, Alan Taylor, Tracey Taylor, Lyndon McCall, Catrina McCall and several other nieces & nephews and by his many, many great friends.

Services will be held on Sunday, March 4, 2018, from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Emerald Hall, 30 Central St, Abington, MA. For more information please visit www.magounbiggins.com.
