Obituary For Christine Keane
Christine Keane of Hanson passed away on Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at the age of 70, after battling various health issues over the last few months. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and family woman. Christine was born on November 8, 1951 to Richard and Catherine Chandler. She grew up in Rockland as a part of a working-class family along with her sister Karen. In high school she met her future husband, Michael F. Keane, Jr. also of Rockland, and they married on September 29, 1972. They had a strong and loving marriage until Michael’s death in 2015. Christine graduated from Nursing School at Massachusetts General Hospital and went on to have a 40 plus year career working as a Registered Nurse in the ICU at South Shore Hospital and then Boston Medical Center. She loved doing everything she could to help her patients return home to their families. She was an amazing humanitarian, and this is something that was always present in her personal life as well.Christine was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who would do absolutely anything for those that she loved. She was an extraordinary person who always wanted to be surrounded by loved ones, especially her grandchildren. She will be remembered for her thoughtfulness, supportiveness, never forgetting anyone’s birthday or special occasion, and her willingness to always be there for those who needed it. She is survived by her son Michael and his wife Abigail of Kingston; her sister Karen Mincone of Mansfield; and her three beloved grandsons Finnegan, Eamon, and Ronan who she dedicated much of her life to after her retirement. She is also survived by several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. Christine will be sorely missed by all those who knew her.Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours at Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home from 4pm-7pm on Wednesday, October 12, 2022. A funeral Mass will be held at Holy Family Church in Rockland on Thursday, October 13, 2022 at 9am. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in her name to the National Kidney Foundation.Donations in Christine’s name may be made to, the National Kidney Foundation 209 West Central St. Suite 207, Natick MA 01760.

So sorry to hear of your loss! I worked with Chris at Boston Medical Center for many years. I was unaware she had been ill. She was an excellent nurse and devoted to her patients. She always spoke of her family especially her son. My thoughts and prayers are with you all!
