June 22, 2007 Dear Uncle Charlie, It was so nice to see you last summer in PEI. You lived a very fulfilling life and have left us with wonderful Uncle Charlie stories that bring smiles to our faces. You wore the names Big Charlie, Father, Uncle Charlie, and Grandfather as a badge of honor. It meant something to you to make a difference in our lives with words of wisdom, food in our bellies, or shelter over our heads. You will be truly missed. Love, Lynn Hodgins(Dunn) Rosie's daughter Lynn Hodgins (Yuma, AZ) Contact me

Dad, If I had my pick from the Sea of Galilee I couldn't have a better Dad than you. Love you Dad. Your sailor son Philip Charlie, You were such a great father-in-law. Even if you were right about the 12 inches of snow that Maine was going to get that day in April when we were sitting in the parlor visiting you and Ma. WOW what a long drive home that was. Your love, guidance and patience(lots of patience) carved Philip into the man he is today. I thank you for that. We both love you and all of the family very much. You were right though it does take an Irishman 40 years to grow up. We will miss you down here and look forward to the day when you greet us in heaven. Until then watch the weather channel and keep us posted! Love, hugs, and kisses your daughter-in-law Kim

Dad I Miss you but will always remember what you taught me, and that is how to go for things that matter the most, I learned alot when I saw you and Mom hand out food to the poor, and talked to those who needed advise, I saw your passion for politics, I saw a man who stood for the right no matter what the cost, And I saw a Man who Loved his wife and Children, And I learned by you when I saw little things being done when you did'nt see me, I saw what God done for you when you lived for him, I will miss taken you and Mom out, but know I will continue to look out for Mom while you home in Heaven, And will do my part and keep praying for the rest of the family to keep on the road to Holiness, I love you,

To my Grandpa, I know that you have lived a long and wonderful life. I remember as a young boy we would go for walks out in Golden Acres and you would tell me and Joseph stories about the war. You would sometimes even act them out for us. I always loved seeing you and Grandma, it always meant that I would get a good breakfast and a cup of tea, then after that Joe and I would go outside and play around in the yard. I will never forget you Grandpa and you are one of the reasons that I joined the Army. Now maybe one day I can do the same thing to my grandkids as you did for us, great stories and lots of love. I love you Grandpa. Love Mike

Uncle Charlie, I have always had these special memories of you when I was a little girl. Your home was always a safe haven for my mom (Rosie), Lynn, Dee, and I when things got tough. Thanks for paying me 50 cents to eat the tomato soup that I liked anyway to fatten me up. I remember getting to go get ice cream with it at the corner store. I am happy you got to meet my daughters (Ashley and Alyssa)this past summer. They got to meet My uncle Charlie that they have so often heard great stories about. You are in my heart and I will see you one day soon. All my love to the family on this day and always. With Love Your Great Niece, Lisa M. Demar (Dunn) (Rosie's Girl)
