Uncle Charlie was very much loved! I'll always remember the summers when I was young when Uncle Charlie, Aunt Gloria & the kids (my cousins - Diane, Chuckie, Glo & Linda) would visit my family at a cottage that we'd rent. Always the highlight of my summer! We always had so much fun! Love Charlie's nephew, Paul.....

My ?older? brother, Charles L. Rich?my ?twin? brother, ?Charlie?. For over eight decades now I have retold what happened in that hospital delivery room on January 11, 1926. The doctor delivered a healthy bouncing baby boy to Alice and Robert Rich, finished what he needed to do and then left the delivery room. To everyone?s surprise, the nurse runs to find the doctor saying, ?Come back, come back, there?s another one!? From that moment on, I had a big brother by 15 minutes?but never realized how I would have a soul mate for over 82 years! Unless you are a twin yourself, it?s hard to describe this special bond we have shared. We shared our Mother?s womb (without her knowledge), then we were inseparable in the early years at home?so we bonded from the start! During our teen years, Charlie always looked out for me?even careful which boys he approved to come around. He was cautious about a red-headed southerner who swept me off my feet and moved me down to New Orleans but I know he quickly was fond of the great man I married. On the flip side, I absolutely adored the great gal, Gloria, who became Charlie?s wife and lifelong partner. During the years we always kept in touch, maybe not enough as we would have liked, but the cards and letters flowed?especially on January 11 each year. In 1981, when I lost my dear husband, Red, after his quick battle with cancer, Charlie and Gloria were at my side to get me through the worst times. Gloria, I may not be able to travel anymore but you know I am with you in spirit. When it was time for my second heart surgery about 5 years ago, Charlie and Gloria wanted to be by my side. I remember Charlie giving me a kiss before the surgery and with tears in his eyes telling me that he will see me when the doctor made me better. Not only did Charlie and Gloria help give my daughters the strength and support needed during the hours I was in surgery?but they literally packed up my entire house while my children and grandchildren deci

I saw a perfectly restored old Rambler the other day and was reminded how Diane and I used to drive around together in hers. I remember one day after a big snow storm, we couldn't wait to get out but Diane's car was snowed in. Mr. Rich dug it out for us so we could go out. That was a real Dad. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this time Love, Betsy

Dear Uncle Charlie, I remember all our family get togethers. You were always right there playing with the "kids". I especially remember playing tennis with you and thought I should go "easy" with you as I was a much younger person and in better shape. How wrong I was. I remember you helping my family out with your kind words and advise. I know you loved us as if we were an extension of your family. You will always be in my heart and your memory will live within me forever. I will keep remembering your smile and your good disposition. I will miss you. Love, Marcy and Richie Mignosa
