Obituary For Charles “Chad” Merritt IV

11/02/1990 - 12/26/2023

Charles (Chad) Merritt IV of Hanover, MA, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 26th, 2023.

Chad was born in Weymouth, MA and grew up in Hanover, MA. Shortly after graduation from Hanover High School in 2009, he attended Southern New Hampshire University for Culinary Arts and Business where he graduated in 2013.

Chad had many creative passions in life, including sports, artwork, music, and cooking. From a very young age Chad fell in love with playing soccer and had a passion for cooking. Throughout his childhood and early adulthood Chad became a very successful soccer player, playing varsity for Hanover for all four years. Not many people were aware he was also a very talented artist. Chad loved and cared with all his heart for his family and friends. Chad enjoyed feeding his loved ones with his favorite food creations the most. He loved to cheer on his favorite sports teams the New England Patriots and the Boston Bruins with his mom Susan.

Chad is lived on by his parents, Susan and Charles (Chuck) Merritt III, his brother Cory Merritt, his sister Chelsea Merritt, and his grandparents Charles (Butchie) Merritt Junior, Maria Merritt, and Mary Susan Porter.

Chad leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, and devotion. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and countless others.

There will be services held for Chad at Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home in Rockland on Sunday, January 7th from 2PM to 5PM. A gathering will be held at The American Legion in Hanover from 5PM to 8PM, all are welcome to attend.

    I am so saddened to hear about Chads passing our hearts go out to the entire Family. Our condolences to all. We too watched as Chad grew up, he was so polite and grew up to be a fine young man. My prayers to you all, so sad.

    So. Sad. The. Loss of. Chad. Hard to believe. He passed. I knew ZChad and his family when Chad had just turned 1. . He was a kind hearted happy baby child kid carrying adult .man. he was a child. Kid ran around like every child . Coloring. Board games playing. Sports. He will be know for his gental ways. And his smiling face. Up for a conversation at Young age. As. Chad grow into his adult life. . You bumpedb J into him he stopped talked. Never turned away. My heart aches for his parents siblings as a family friend I hold prayers out to the whole family as they try processes of this so called unexpected. Shocking. Passing of their. Son.. I hope they find strength comfort love. Know others care. Rip. Chad you will be deeply missed.. But never forgotten in ourts forever. Julie. Lyons.
