Obituary For Catherine M. Wilson

Catherine Marguerite (Aucoin) Wilson, of Whitman, formerly Rockland, passed away on December 16, 2025, at the age of 91. Marguerite was born in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia where she met her husband, David Wilson. They married on November 10, 1954, and departed Canada on the following day to start their new life in Boston, Massachusetts. They made their home in Rockland while raising six children, later watching with joy and pride as their family grew to include 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

For many years in her role at the South Shore Nursing Facility, Marguerite was known for her kind and compassionate nature. She was a dedicated parishioner of Holy Family Church in Rockland with a devout Catholic faith. Knowing she was praying for us, something she often reminded us of, was heartwarming.

Nothing brought Marguerite more pleasure than taking her grandchildren to her favorite spot at Lake Sunapee, New Hampshire. The camping weekends with Nana and Papa became a simple and beautiful ritual, creating lasting memories for every grandchild.

For many years, Marguerite continued her passion for ice skating and could always be found on the dance floor at the Irish dances. During the winter months, she was very happy enjoying time with her snowbird friends in Florida and especially proud of winning many shuffleboard competitions.

Marguerite’s Cape Breton roots were embedded in her heart, and she never missed an opportunity to tell people she was the oldest of 13 children. In between frequent trips back home to Glace Bay to see family and friends, she stayed connected through many long-distance calls with her siblings.

Marguerite was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Mary Aucoin of Nova Scotia. She is survived by her beloved husband of 71 years, David Wilson. She was the devoted mother of six children, David Wilson and his wife Susan, Ruthie King, Tom Wilson and his wife June, Allison Sideropoulos, Lisa Freitas and her husband Joe, and Donna McAuliffe and her husband Tom. She cherished the role of lovingly being known as Nana to 13 grandchildren (Christopher, Matthew, Catherine, Christine, Patrick, Andrea, Maria, David, Megan, Nicholas, Colleen, Maggie, and Owen) and 9 great-grandchildren (Brayden, Casey, Jimi, Mila, Wyatt, Juliana, Penny, Wesley, and Chloe).

Services for Marguerite Wilson will be as follows:

Friends and Family are invited to celebrate Marguerite’s Life on Monday December 22, 2025 4PM-6PM at Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union St Rockland MA, 02370. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday December 23, 2025 9AM at Holy Family Church, 403 Union St Rockland MA 02370, followed by a burial at Holy Family Cemetery, 92 Centre Ave Rockland MA, 02370.

I am deeply saddened for the family's loss. Marguerite(I can only call her Mrs.Wilson) and My mother"Kay Walsh" conspired to get me a summer job at Sullivan Tire during the summer of 1973 and I'm still there today. I'm sorry I will not be able to attend any of the services but my prayers are with the family. Steve Walsh formerly of Rice Ave, right around the corner from the Wilson estate...
