Obituary For Catherine "Kay" Donnelly

Catherine M. "Kay" Donnelly, 92 of Halifax died Thursday, September 24, at the Golden Living Center in Plymouth after a period of failing health. She was born in Boston, Daughter of the late Paul F. Cahill Sr. and Florence (Behm) Cahill.

Catherine was raised and educated in Stoughton, graduating from Stoughton High School in 1941. Following High School Mrs. Donnelly attended St. Elizabeth's School of Nursing in Boston, graduating in 1945.

She worked for many years as a maternity nurse welcoming new life into the world at the Phaneuf Hospital in Brockton. Later Catherine was the Director of Nursing at the Mildred Alfred Nursing Home in Abington. She also worked for many years at the Halifax Council on Aging. Catherine was the Wife of the late Arthur V. "Vin" Donnelly. Mother of, Annemarie Golemme of Whitman, Alice Standish of Durham NH, and the late Francis Michael Donnelly. Sister of Paul F. Cahill of MD, Duncan Cahill of East Bridgewater, Donald Cahill of FL, and Helen Peters of Whitman. Grandmother of James M. Golemme, Kerry S. Berry, and Michael V. Standish. Also survived by 4 Great Grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

The family welcomes friends and loved ones to celebrate her life from 4:00-7:00 PM on Tuesday September 29, 2015 in the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home 135 Union St. Rockland. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 9:00 AM in the Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 580 Monponsett St. Halifax MA. Burial will follow in the Calvary Cemetery in Brockton.     Just wanted to give some respect for this very dynamic lady. While we are not the closest family I was proud to call her my aunt. May you rest in peace Aunt Cathy, I'm sure you are one happy Patriots fan right now. Love ya!
