Obituary For Carol "Maggie" Bray

Carol "Maggie" Bray passed away peacefully at home and was immediately reunited with her beloved son, William Bray Jr., and her loving husband of over fifty years, William A. Bray. Carol raised her family in North Quincy for over sixty years.

Carol dedicated 25 years to the Department of Education as the Commissioner's Assistant. Carol blessed her community with her hard work and creativity. A dedicated worker at the Atlantic Neighborhood Center, she arranged field trips for the community's seniors and children. Carol spent a lot of time teaching seniors and children ceramics, wreath making, and planning community block parties at Welcome Young Park. Carol wasn't just proud of her work, she was a proud wife, mother, nana, friend, and neighbor, who went above and beyond. She brought happiness into her neighbor's homes with her love of giving back. Her home was always open for family and friends, whether it was holiday celebrations or summer time pool parties. She made sure all of her family's friends had a place to go to feel loved, and she spent years curating the beautiful handmade decorations for her own holiday celebrations. She started a family tradition of being a Secret Santa for families for over 30 years.

Carol was the proud wife of the late William Bray for over fifty years. She is survived by Carol Rourke and James, Katherine Sheehan and George, Maria Penwarden and Raymond, Suzanne Bray and David Monteiro, and the late William A. Bray Jr. Carol is predeceased by her beloved parents Katherine and John Megnia. She is also survived by her sister Patricia Cabral and her husband Robert, and her beloved late brothers John Megnia and wife Dorothy, and Robert Megnia and Josephine, Francis Megnia and is also survived by her sister-in-law Betty Megnia and predeceased by her loving Godchild Joey Megnia. Also survived by seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild along with many nieces and nephews.

Carol's generosity for those who need it most will continue to impact the community by asking for donations made to the National Kidney Foundation in lieu of flowers.

In light of the current Covid crisis, a Celebration of Life Memorial will be scheduled for a later date.
