Dear Carol, we had so many laughs together. And to think you passed away on my birthday. Rest in peace my dear friend. You will be missed.

  • 05/25/2021

Carol was a special, special person! When I always needed a good dose of reality and someone to put things in 'proper' perspective, Carol was there to set things straight. She told it like it was and then punctuated it with a joke and a smile. She was a great friend whose influence I will never forget. My thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends with whom I share our loss. God bless all of you.

  • 05/25/2021

The world has certainly lost a wonderful light. My sincere condolences to the family. Mrs. DelPrete always had sage advice and a kind word for a troubled student. I'm sure she is smiling down on her family members and watching over them now.

When I look across the street I will always envision you standing there with your never ending smile waving to me. Rest my friend.

Carol will always be remembered for her vibrant, happy personality. I began my career with Carol being the first person to see each morning at the Jefferson School. She shared her beautiful smile and was full of laughter each and every day, including the times I'd see her at the high school. Caring thoughts are with her family...my sincere condolences.

Always a friend, a lady, a mother, a grandmother and a wife. Uncle Vin & Vinny how lucky were we to of had her in our lives.

  • 05/25/2021

I am so sorry for your loss. I hope that you are all doing well in this time of sadness. I really enjoyed my time with your family. Mrs. D. was a wonderful and kind lady who always had time for me when I was walking around Rockland and would stop in to say hello. I know that my father would be very sad at time. Will see you soon. Love, Karen Borden (Walsh)

I can't express how saddened I am to hear this news. Carol was truly special. She had an innate ability to light up a room with a smile or a quick-witted remark and to make you feel at home. During her many years working in the guidance department at RHS she had to interact with many Rockland kids who were somehow down on their luck - trouble with grades, a conflict with a teacher or peer, or dealing with a difficult situation at home - and I think her sense of humor and light-hearted approach to her work really did have a positive effect on these kids. Carol was loyal and kind and she'll be missed.

  • 05/25/2021

Vinny and Family....Please accept our heartfelt sympathy for your loss. Carol was a remarkable woman with a wonderful sense of humor. Just take one day at a time.

  • 05/25/2021

I am so sorry to hear of Carol's passing. Sheryl just let me know as I am living in FL the last couple years. She and your family were such a large part of us kids growing up next door to you. I remember how much she loved my grandmother Helen and always kept watch over us growing up. I can still see her sitting in the back seat of the car while Capone sat up front!

  • 05/25/2021

Vinnie: We are so sorry for your loss. Our hearts and prayers are with you.

  • 05/25/2021

My heart is broken.... Carol now is the brightest star in the Heavens. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family and yes, to all her friends.

  • 05/25/2021

Dear Vinny and family, I've just gotten home from a trip and read of Carol's passing. The world has lost a VERY special person. She always was willing to go the extra mile for me whether it was with school "stuff" or Citizens Scholarship. And you always knew where you stood with her. She had a marvelous sense of humor and was never afraid to call a spade a spade. We shared so many laughs! She was a good friend and a special person! Vinny you'll appreciate this, I painted my fire hydrant this year and couldn't help but laugh remembering that the last time it was done was when young Vinny and the scouts took on the project. I tried to be as neat. I'll miss her!

  • 05/25/2021

So sorry to hear about Carol's passing. She was a great colleague and I enjoyed all our conversations.

  • 05/25/2021

Cousin Vinnie, my heartfelt prayers and thoughts are with you, Vinnie Jr. and the rest of the family. I have fond memories of Carol while I was growing up. She was a great lady. Unfortunately I am traveling this week and can't be with you in person but please know that I will thinking of all of you and sending my prayers. I hope to see you soon. Love - Butchie Umbrianna

Vinny, so sorry to learn of the passing of your wife. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this difficult time. Be strong my friend. Thinking of you.

  • 05/25/2021

Carol was a kind, caring, wonderful person and a good friend. Always smiling and eager to brighten your day. She's been through so much, but never complained. She was always more concerned with how you were doing. She will be dearly missed, but never forgotten by all whose lives she touched. Heaven's gain is the world's loss. Carol is surely watching over her beautiful family now from above. Vinny, young Vinny, Giovanna, Bella & Olivia may God Bless you all and comfort you during this very difficult time. You're in our thoughts & prayers.

  • 05/25/2021

We are truly sorry for your loss. Carol was such a beautiful person inside and out, always smiling and laughing. We had so many great times together. She will be greatly missed.

  • 05/25/2021

Vinny, just learning of Carol's passing, my sincere condolances to you, your son, and other family members. I remember Carol when we were kids growing up in Rockland; she always had a great sense of humor, a really happy person. As adults, that never changed...if our paths crossed while on Union St, or in the grocery store, she would always greet me with her cheery Hello and a wonderful smile. A great loss to anyone who knew her. John Eaton

  • 05/25/2021

What a remarkable woman she was. Always had a smile and how she loved to laugh. She would do anything for you and never ask anything in return. Even though I have been away for years whenever I talked to her on the phone or drop in on Vinny & her she would give me big hugs. You will be sadly miss by those you have touched especially by me. I will always remember & love you.

  • 05/25/2021

Our hearts are so incredibly sad over the passing of our friend Carol. Carol was an honest, funny, and caring person who took it upon herself to play "matchmaker" for us, and was thrilled to dance at our wedding....almost 25 years ago. She was always interested in watching our children grow and loved when we would 'pop in' to visit her. There is no doubt in our minds that our lives were made better just because Carol was in it. We send our sincerest sympathies to her family. You are all in our thoughts and prayers.

  • 05/25/2021

Big Vinnie & little Vinnie, I am truly sorry for your loss. I can honestly say my life has been enriched just knowing Carol. She was one of the best neighbors I have ever had the pleasure of having by far. My fondest memories are when we were both out supposed to be doing lawn work and would see each other, we'd stop and talk for an hour maybe longer! She would make me laugh with here stories. She lit up and was so proud of her grand daughters. She was the most positive person I knew even through all that she went through, such an inspiration to us all. Carol RIP you will be sadly missed and never ever forgotten.

  • 05/25/2021

Although I haven't seen Carol in many years, I will always remember her by her laugh. My Mom Helen and her Mom Millie were best friends and I knew Carol as a young girl. So sorry to hear of your loss . My condolences to her family. Janice Watson Albanese
