Bruce was a great coworker and a good firefighter. He seemed to always be there when help was needed. He was a dedicated brother firefighter and a compassionate EMT. I learned from him when he was a veteran of the fire service and I was a rookie. I will remember him always a good and decent man.

  • 05/25/2021

Bruce was the first person we met when my family moved to Rockland (behind the fire station). From that day on, he was a charming and funny "neighbor" to my husband and I, and a trusted friend to our children. Bruce Jr. grew up with our kids. We're so sorry to hear of "Big Bruce" passing. He was a terrific man! Rest in peace, friend. You fought a good fight - now it's time to rest. Condolences to the Carrico family, and to Bruce Jr (who we always thought of as one of our own kids!).

God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be. So he put His arms around you and whispered "come to Me". With tearful eyes we watched you, and saw you pass away. Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hardworking hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best. I will miss you dearly my sunshine!
