Obituary For Betty F. Shortall

Betty F. (Franzen) Shortall, 93 of Rockland died on December 15, 2014 at the South Shore Nursing and Rehabilatation Center. She was born in Scituate, daughter of the late James and Besse (Burrows) Franzen and was raised and educated there. After graduating from Scituate High School Mrs. Franzen enlisted in the Navy and served during World War II.

She had been employed as a teacher's aide at the Jefferson School in Rockland, H.H. Arnold Co. also in Rockland and at the time of her retirement she worked at the West Pine Window Co. in Hanover.

Wife of the late Henry L. Shortall, she is survived by her son, Larry Shortall of Rockland, her daughter Mary Hansbury of NH, her granddaughters Laisee Schipper, Laura McCormick and Anne Hansbury, her grandsons, Lee Shortall and Jeffrey Hansbury along with her great grandsons Aaron and Logan Schipper and great granddaughter Kyleigh Schipper. She was also the sister of Jean Wood, Richard Franzen and Frederick Franzen.

The Family welcomes friends and loved ones to celebrate her life at the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union St. Rockland on Friday December 19, 2014, from 5-8 PM A Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 AM at the funeral Home on Saturday December 20, 2014.
