Obituary For Bertram I. Horsman

Bertram I. Horsman 74, died at his home in Rockland after a period of failing health. He was born in New Brunswick Canada, Son of the late Ira, and Mary (Simpson) Horsman. He was raised and educated in Montcon New Brunswick, and moved to Abington MA at the age of 23. When Bertram moved to Abington he went to work at Moran Jewelers of Brockton, and later Park Jewelers in Whitman. Later he went to work for ADT as a security guard, eventually working his way up to the company's Data Services Department. Mr. Horsman enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and fishing. Bertram is survived by his Wife, Nancy Horsman (Cannon) of Rockland. Father of Richard F. Jankowski of Abington, Theresa A. Gribble of CA, Patricia A. Straffin of Duxbury, Glen J. Horsman of Middleboro, and Wendy Wyman of Middleboro. Brother of Jackie Akerly of Canada, and Robert Horsman of Canada. Also survived by 9 Grandchildren, 3 Great Grandchildren, and several Nieces and Nephews. The family welcomes friends and relatives to celebrate his life on Friday, May 27, 2016 at the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union Street Rockland, from 4:00-7:00 PM. A Funeral Home Service will be held on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at the Northville Cemetery in East Bridgewater. Donatons in Bertram's name may be made to The First Congregational Church of Rockland, 12 Church St. Rockland MA 02370.

    So sorry to hear of Bert's passing, though we had lost touch over the years I still remember him as great friend and coworker. I regret that I didn't find he was still in this area until I read the obit, I had heard that he moved when the central station moved years ago. My sympathies, he was a wonderful guy...
