Obituary For Bertha Naviskas

Bertha Naviskas, of Hanover, June 14, 2007 Age 90. Daughter of the late Clement and Annie (Gulbin) Naviskas, and sister of the late Lucy Naviskas. Beloved Aunt of William F. Powers, Jr. and Todd A. Arnone. Funeral Mass at St. Mary of the Sacred Heart Church in Hanover on Monday July 2nd at 9:00 AM, followed by interment at the Hanover Center Cemetery, on Silver St. in Hanover. The Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home will be assisting the family with arrangements. Bertha died suddenly in the South Shore Hospital in Weymouth on June 14th. She was born, raised and educated in Hanover, daughter of the late Clement and Annie (Gulbin) Naviskas. Bertha worked for many years as a hairdresser before retiring. Bertha had many pets that she loved over the years but none were quite as special to her as her German Shepard Abby. In retirement Bertha enjoyed gardening and playing bingo at the Pembroke Knights of Columbus Hall and the Pembroke Senior Center. More than anything however, she enjoyed spending time with her two nephews William Powers Jr. and Todd Arnone. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary of the Sacred Heart Church in Hanover at 9:00 AM, followed by interment at the Hanover Center Cemetery on Silver St in Hanover.. She leaves behind wonderful memories through her many plants and her dog Abby. In lieu of plants or flowers, a contribution to your local animal shelter would be most appreciated.

My thoughts and prayers are with you Bill & Todd. Bertha was a cherished friend and will be sadly missed. Life is but a journey, A resting place along the road, to sweet eternity. We all have different journeys, different paths along the way. We are not meant to stay... Our destination is a place, more beautiful than we know. When the journey finally ends, We'll find an everlasting peace, together with the lord. ~ In Loving Remembrance~ of Bertha Naviskas

I had the pleasure of meeting and knowing Bertha through Bill 25 years ago. I take with me the fond memories of her love of her German Shepard and her love of all animals. I believed that she communicated with all creatures...birds, squirrels, stray cats..and they trusted her. I also take with me the wonderful relationship that she had with Bill and then with Todd. She was an amazing person. I will miss you...we will ALL miss you. With loving memories, Theresa
