Obituary For Bernice E. Miller

Bernice E. (Laughlin) Miller, 89 died on December 29, 2007 in the Queen Anne Nursing Home in Hingham after a period of failing health. She was born in Irvington, NJ daughter of the late Frank and Louise (Steiner) Laughlin and was raised and educated there. A former Vermont resident, she has made her home in Abington for the past 50 years. Mrs. Miller was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Abington having served on the Women's Circle of the Church and taught Sunday School for many years. Bernice was a bookkeeper and had volunteered at South Shore Hospital fo many years. She loved playing cards and board games and was an avid sports fan. Wife of the late Rev. George F. Miller, she is survived by her children, Marilyn A. Gaffney of Abington and F. Kent Miller of Whitman and a grand daughter Jennifer R. Phinney of Abington. She was the sister of the late Herbert and Norman Laughlin. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, January 7th at 10:30 am in the First Baptist Church of Abington. Burial will follow in Mt. Vernon Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Sunday January 6th from 3-6 PM in the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home 135 Union St. ROCKLAND. Donations in her memory may be made to the Memorial Fund, First Baptist Church 219 Adams St. Abington, MA 02351.
